Los Alamos Facade Loan Program

What is the Los Alamos Facade Loan Program?

The Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation (LACDC) facade loan program is designed to assist local businesses improve the exterior of their buildings. The Facade Improvement loan program is available to any business in Los Alamos County located in a commercial zone. Loans are available in the amount of $500 to $25,000 and are 0% interest. LACDC has made up to $100,000 a year available under this program. LACDC will be partnering with Los Alamos National Bank for administration of the loans.

A façade is defined as the face of the building facing the street or parking area and used as the primary entrance and exit for the general public.

Façade improvements include the entire façade or any part of the façade that needs repair, updating or replacement. Some examples of parts of a façade are: signage, lighting, storefronts (doors & windows), awnings, painting, stucco/plastering, sidewalks, and necessary architectural and other professional services associated with the design and permitting of eligible improvements.

Explicitly excluded from eligibility for this program is construction of new facilities or building interiors, additions or improvements to the side or back of buildings. Any side of a building that directly faces a street and is in the view of the general public can be considered for this program.

Applications are reviewed by LACDC and once approved will be sent to Los Alamos National Bank for administration. When the work is performed, the borrower will provide and invoice to LANB and the payment will be made directly.
