Summer Recap
The Los Alamos and White Rock visitor centers had a very busy summer. Visitor counts for each month, June through August, are as follows:
- June – 9,146
- July – 13,981
- August – 10,222
Total visitors coming through our community, enjoying our attractions and local businesses and participating in local events for the summer was 33,349.
Based on New Mexico tourism information, a tourist/visitor will spend a little less than $40.00 per day within a community and/or attraction they visit. Based on this evaluation, Los Alamos experienced between 1 million and 1.3 million dollars in local spending over the summer. This would include hotels, meals, gas, attraction fees, camping and trail fees, and purchases other than hotel, meals and gas. GOOD JOB LOS ALAMOS!
