We’ll be celebrating many things on November 30th at Fuller Lodge- the Chamber’s 50th anniversary, the successful Small Business Saturday promotion to benefit United Way of Northern New Mexico, and the Green Business of the year awards. The most important thing we have to celebrate is the fact that we have a wonderful business community here.

Businesspeople in Los Alamos are a tough and resilient bunch- they have fought and overcome the roller coaster ride that is lab budgeting; they deal with wildfires and crazy weather and road closures and aging infrastructure; they put their families’ financial security at risk and work long hours; they educate themselves on the changing business environment and reporting requirements; they adapt to things like online sales and big box stores and nationwide recessions; they sponsor little league teams and serve on committees and go to PTO meetings; in short, they do heroic work to contribute to everyone’s quality of life in the community.

When we celebrate our Golden Anniversary, that is what we really celebrate- the strength and devotion of our members.
