Greetings!

As most of you know I recently rejoined the Los Alamos Commerce & Development Corporation as the Executive Director in November 2014 and have thoroughly enjoyed my time back so far.  For those of you who don’t know me, here is a brief introduction.

I first came to Los Alamos in June of 2002 as a graduate school intern with LANL’s Technology Transfer Office.  During the summer, I met my wife and returned to Los Alamos full time in January of 2003.

I spent a few months at LANB as a Credit Analyst before joining LACDC as the Business Development Director and the Director of the UNM-LA Small Business Development Center.  Over the next seven years, I had the privilege of assisting entrepreneurs to start and expand businesses in Los Alamos County.  I had the unique opportunity to meet a great deal of local business owners and established some long lasting relationships.  I then spent a year in LANL’s Chief Financial Officer Division and most recently three years as the Financial Manager for the New Mexico Consortium.

I’m excited to be working again in economic development and am most looking forward to the opportunity to work with the local business community.  We have a strong small business sector in Los Alamos, including home-based businesses, local merchants, technology companies, restaurants, hotels and more.   With the announcement of the Manhattan Project National Historic Park, our community is primed to make big strides over the next several years.

Through our different programs, LACDC is well-positioned to assist in these efforts.  The Chamber of Commerce is actively working as an advocate for members locally, regionally, and nationally.  Our MainStreet program focuses on downtown redevelopment and events to bring people downtown.  The Meeting and Visitors Bureau assists in enhancing the visitor experience and in meeting and event planning. Additionally, our Small Business Center provides affordable office space for new or growing businesses to share resources. The Los Alamos Research Park continues to fill needs for office and laboratory space to accommodate businesses and programs related to the laboratory.

Please stop by or call (505)-661-4854 and introduce yourself if you get a chance over the next few weeks.  I’m slowly making the rounds to re-establish old connections as well as make new ones and I look forward to meeting everyone involved in enhancing our local economy.

Best,

Patrick
